Every day women and children find themselves in difficult circumstances. Often they may be isolated and alone. The Good Samaritan Inn is here to help.
The Good Samaritan Inn offers crisis accommodation to women and their children who are escaping family violence or find themselves homeless. Women (whether they are on their own or with children) contact the agency appropriate to their needs. The agency then refers them to the Inn, where the women can stay up to four nights. During this time the women have access to personal support day and night. The staff are supported by volunteers who help in the evening to create and maintain an atmosphere of trust and tranquillity for the families.
In 2011 the Good Samaritan Inn celebrates its 15th anniversary. Fifteen years of Caring! Founded in 1996, the Good Samaritan Inn has been a short-term home for over 5000 women and children who find themselves homeless. Sister Anne Dixon and Sister Helen Mills founded the Inn with the dream of making a home where homeless people are welcomed. This is still deeply imbedded in the spirit of the Inn.
The Good Samaritan Foundation has been a proud supporter of the Inn.
