Bequests
A Will is a personal expression of last wishes and instructions. Many people
chose to include a favourite charity in their Will. It cannot be said in
words how much the Sisters of the Good Samaritan appreciate a person's wish
to be remembered in this way.
How to make Bequest
A Will is a legal document and a personal statement. It is recommended to
seek advice from a trained professional (Solicitor or Trust Officer) if
you need to write a Will. Once made, a Will can be changed through a "codicil"
which is clearly worded paragraph that is added to the Will.
By including a paragraph, such as the following, in your will, you will
ensure the legacy you nominate comes to the Foundation.
"I bequeth the sum of $ to the Sisters
of the Good Samaritan Foundation ("the Foundation") to be applied
for the charitable purposes of the Foundation and I declare that the receipt
of the Foundation will be full and sufficient discharge for my executor
without any need to enquire any further as to the actual application of
monies."
Family members can continue to monitor our progress and also assist our
projects.
